  • Description

In this video, Ganoksin instructor Mechelle Lois demonstrates a fun goldsmithing project in which she creates a ring using both 14k yellow gold and 14k white gold.

The design features a twisted yellow gold band set between two white gold bands and provides extensive soldering practice, with more than 20 solder joints involved. As she works, Mechelle highlights the key differences and similarities between yellow and white gold, including important annealing tips.

Combining two colors of gold can greatly enhance a design, and with the right approach, working with both metals can be easy and enjoyable.

This is the sixth video in Mechelle's Working with Precious Metals series.
